A Californian Adventure!

If you are from California it can feel a little ironic to find yourself in Disney's California Adventure Theme Park. The ride soaring over California was similar to my actual plane ride from nor cal to so cal. However, the new Cars Land was admittedly a lot better than authentic California traffic and I still remember the scent of flavorful bbq sauce drifting out from Flo's Diner! The Little Mermaid ride was another favorite attraction from the park, the mechanics and charm were very reminiscent of the kiddy rides in Disney's Fantasyland. A Bug's Land is another fantastic area, as someone who is over 6 feet tall, it was very amusing and humbling to walk beneath gigantic lucky clovers that made me feel oh so small! If you find yourself lucky enough to be in sunny southern California I would recommend a day trip to Disney's California Adventure Theme Park filled with magic from the golden state!

During my stay in Southern California I was fortunate enough to spend two evenings in Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and I would highly recommend the venue. In my opinion, this is the best value of the Disney hotels and just across the street from both parks! Perfect for midday relaxation and maybe a power nap!

Nico

Disneyland Continued!

Enter and explore whole new realms from my stay in the Magical Kingdom: Adventureland, Frontierland, and New Orleans Square! One of the main highlights from my trip was being able to see The Haunted Mansion decked out in a Nightmare Before Christmas theme. November is the best time to visit Disneyland in my opinion because the park is prepped for Christmas but also still a bit spooky and creepy from Halloween! Even New Orleans Square was full of Mardi Gras themed colors, ornaments, and masks to lift your spirits to a festive mood!

My most cherished memory from this Disney vacation with my good friend Phil was riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. First off, they updated a lot of the elements of the attraction with faux explosives and flashing lights that I really enjoyed. Secondly, we managed to ride the railroad 6 times during the fireworks show! There were no lines for the ride and we got to see everything a bit closer from the peak of Thunder Mountain Railroad, a thrilling roller coaster!

Nico

Toontown!

Just a few more larger than life snap shots from my visit to Toontown. As a child who fell in love with "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit," I can still remember the first time I ever visited Toontown when it was brand new and freshly built! Seeing the homes of all my favorite cartoons helped make their characters feel more real and alive than I already had imagined them to be! You have to know I still swoon when I happen to see Rodger Rabbit while in Disneyland!

Still one of my all time favorite rides at Disneyland! A huge part of why I love Rodger Rabbit is because he is so hilariously funny and all the cartoons are obsessed with his humor and not necessary the fact that he is also a funny looking rabbit!

Sadly, "It's A Small World" was closed during my visit to
the Magic Kingdom but I am excited to see the improvements
 on my next visit!

Thank you for following along on this virtual Disney vacation with me! I promise more color and fun is on it's way!

Yours,
Nico

Tea Time With Nikki Mouse !

Visiting Toontown during the holiday season last year was truly animated! With larger than life neon colors, ornaments, and holiday trees it was difficult not to feel like you were in caricature! Of course I planned my outfit that day so that I could feel like a cartoon character come to life. My polka dot dress was purchased at Retro Paradise in Santa Cruz and not only fit the occasion but is also extremely well cut & made. Galavanting around the theme park with one of my best friends was also easy while wearing a pair of yellow converse and the outfit was topped off with a pair of classic minnie mouse ears! I was really hoping that I would run into Rodger Rabbit or Goofy while I was there because I had HUGE crushes on them as a kid, maybe on my next visit!
